In November 2019, it was announced the $709 million Stage 3A extension of the Gold Coast Light Rail (GCLR) to Burleigh Heads will be delivered with commitments of $351 million from the Queensland Government, $269 million from the Australian Government and $92 million from City of Gold Coast.

GCLR Stage 3A is a 6.7 km extension of the light rail system from Broadbeach South to Burleigh Heads, including eight new stations and the procurement of five additional Light Rail Vehicles. It will also include an upgrade and expansion of the existing depot and stabling facilities, a new light rail-bus interchange at Burleigh Heads and Miami and supporting works and improvements. These include signalised traffic intersections and upgrades, new signalised pedestrian crossings and upgraded pedestrian and cycle facilities.

GoldlinQ has started the industry engagement to deliver the extension of the GCLR Stage 3A.

Construction industry organisations are now invited to register their interest to participate in the EOI process for the design and construction (D&C) of GCLR Stage 3A.

The purpose of this Invitation for EOI is to:

• Provide information to potential respondents about GCLR and the scope of the GCLR Stage 3A D&C Works
• Provide an overview of the project, the role of GoldlinQ and other project partners
• Invite suitably qualified registered parties to submit an EOI to undertake the design and construction of GCLR Stage 3A D&C Works
• Inform respondents of the information to be included in their EOI
• Outline the procurement process and timeline for GCLR Stage 3A
• Provide respondents with details of the evaluation criteria and the process which will be used to select the shortlisted respondents

All DTMR prequalifications held will be checked against the DTMR database (minimum of one required to attend the EOI Briefing) or assessed against other equivalent pre-qualification in other jurisdictions:

• F150 PLUS
• TP2 or higher
• TE3
• HE3
• HD2 or higher
• GE2 or higher
