We are looking for an investment or development group to collaborate with, to investigate development and funding options for substantial southern Sydney CBD sites owned by the University.

Established in 1988, UTS is one of the leading Australian universities. It has more than 45,000 students enrolled in onshore and offshore courses and nearly 3000 full time equivalent staff.

Given the increased demand for space and UTS's southern CBD location the university is reviewing all of its potential space supply options. There are several supply options that involve both the redevelopment of current buildings and/or the development of vacant sites. All properties are owned by the university.

Under these circumstances the University is seeking to enter into a collaboration, potentially through a joint venture, the precise legal structure and terms of which remain to be agreed, leading to partnership and development contracts, with a Joint Venture Participant (JVP). The JVP will work with UTS in a mutually transparent manner to determine the most appropriate financial structure, project scope, planning strategy, design, procurement strategy, tenant mix and long term benefits.

The purpose of this Expression of Interest (EOI) is to consider the demonstrated experience, proposals, methodologies, attributes and relationship characteristics of a potential JVP to enable the selection of a JVP who can assist with a more holistic, timely, innovative and cost effective development of the campus through a long term relationship. This EOI is the first step in the selection process. Subsequent to the EOI a short list will be formed for the purpose of offering the opportunity to participate in a more detailed Request for Proposal (RFP).

The collaboration will be focused on the development of 1-59 Quay Street, Haymarket NSW 2000 and 622-644 Harris Street, Ultimo NSW 2007.
