The City of Subiaco (CoS) has in place a longer term plan to relocate its works department depot operations from the current site located at 2 Upham St Subiaco. Once vacated the 9,782 sq m site will be cleared and remediated to allow for an englobo sale to market.
The CoS intends creating a new Technical Administration Centre through the refurbishment of an existing building and vacant site owned by the City, which are located adjacent to each other at 13 and 19 Bishop St Subiaco.
13 Bishop St has for many years been leased to a commercial builder, and has historically been used as a builder's storage site. The site is largely vacant except for an existing storage shed located at the rear of the site. As part of the CoS works depot relocation, 13 Bishop St
will be re-developed into a carpark and works depot light vehicle storage, maintenance and parking facility. The existing storage shed will be retained for use.
19 Bishop St has for many years to leased to various commercial tenants. The building has now become vacant and the CoS intends re-furbishing the building to create a new CoS works department Administration Centre. The new facility will be called "Admin on Bishop".
The CoS has engaged John Flower Architect (JFA) as lead consultant and a team of sub-consultants to fully design and document the re-development of both 13 and 19 Bishop St. An approved DA is in place for these works.
