Description:
IMOS has approved and funded the Bureau to deploy two buoys in priority regions. An analysis of the existing wave measurement network along with an assessment, by the FOO Surface Waves Working Group and the IMOS Office, of aspects such as logistics cost, population density and possible benefits to industry has indicated that the first priority for a new directional buoy is the east coast of Tasmania with the second priority being around the Northern Territory coastline.
