RFT Little River Roads and Drainage Design Services

⁠⁠⁠This project is for the detailed design of the upgrades of several rural roads around Little River and major drainage upgrades.

Little River is a rural village 49km SW of Melbourne on the banks of the Little River, near the larger town of Lara. Many of the rural roads surrounding Little River are only sealed to a widty of around 4m requiring vehicles to use the unsealed shoulders to pass. Traffic volumes on these roads are increasing due to growth in Little River and Lara and single lane seals are no longer appropriate.

Therefore, Council is proposing to upgrade the following roads to two-way sealed lanes:

• Old Melbourne Road - Little River to Little River Road
• Rothwell Road - Old Melbourne Road to Flinders Street
• Mcleans Road - Rothwell Road to Little River Road

During preliminary investigations Council discovered that there are significant drainage issues across these roads. Council has undertaken drainage investigations and modelling and have developed concepts for rectifying these issues which have been approved in principle by Melbourne Water.

This contract will be broken down into three stages as follows:
