The Adelaide Festival Centre (AFC) was Australia’s first multi-purpose arts centre, built between 1970-1973. AFC is still one of Australia’s most active theatrical producers, presenting a wide range of arts activities and performances for the local community and interstate and international visitors.

In 2017, Arts South Australia highlighted the requirement for updating and upgrading technical facilities at the Adelaide Festival Theatre, the Dunstan Playhouse and the Space Theatre. Part of this project includes a complete overhaul of their stage paging and show relay systems.

Responding to the need to upgrade existing technologies, the AFC has highlighted the requirement to overhaul the existing stage paging and show relay systems. The proposed systems (stage paging and show relay ) are to provide user adjustable and selectable programme audio and announcements to all dressing rooms, production offices and theatre corridors. This is to be controlled in each room by a digital control panel. The proposed system should allow for individual room/zone control using individual matrices per room/zone, this is to be controlled either remotely or through a digital interface within each room/zone.

The AFC require a “turn-key” designed system for the Festival Centre’s Back of House areas, which includes three specific venues; Festival Theatre, Dunstan Playhouse and the Space Theatre and is flexible enough to easily add extra venues (zones) when necessary. The installation must meet the AFC’s strict in-house requirements observing current power and data cable installations.
