EOI - Refurbishment of 25 Meter Leisure Pool and Associated Works at Leisurefit Booragoon

LeisureFit Booragoon (LFB) is located on Len Shearer Reserve, 521 Marmion Street Booragoon WA 6154. LBF was constructed in 2000 and has been well maintained over the years. The City of Melville (City) owns and operates the facility.

LFB provides a wide range of services to the community including but not limited to:
* 25 metre leisure indoor pool heated to 32 degrees with beach access.
* 50 metre 8 lane indoor pool heated to 27 degrees.
* Children's Water Playground
* Gym
* Group fitness studio
* Indoor cycle studio
* Wellness studio
* Group training yard
* Spa and Sauna
* Meeting room for hire
* Creche, School Holiday and Afternoon Care for Children.

After 19 years of operation the 50 and 25 meter pools which are constructed from tile reinforced concrete require renewal of the surface finishes and repairs to localised areas of corroded reinforcement.

The City intends to stage the refurbishment works with the first tranche of works being the refurbishment of the 25 meter leisure pool and associated infrastructure the subject of this Expression of Interest (EOI).

The 25 metre pool works are planned to commence in July 2020 with the refurbished pool being fully operational and open to the public by September 2020. The completion of refurbishment works within the aforementioned time frame is of the utmost importance for the City. The 25 metre pool is utilised for school swimming lessons and other programmed activities. Extended closure of the pool will cause financial hardship and reputational damage to the City. The physical extent of the refurbishment works area is shown on Appendix 1 provided with this EOI.
