Tender Description
Thames Coromandel District Council (TCDC) is seeking Expressions of Interest from contractors to provide Main Contractor services for the proposed new Whitianga Refuse Transfer Station (RTS) at Moewai Road, Whitianga with an intended construction budget of $1.4m
The proposed facility is intended to comprise:
- 100m2 building for re-purposing (second-hand) items
- 2x weigh bridges
- Weigh bridge kiosk
- Recycling lay-down area
- New general waste pit with compactor at end
- New green waste pit
- Ring road for contractor trucks
TCDC wish to select a suitably qualified and experienced Contractor via a Lump Sum tender process to work with TCDC and their Design Team in an Early Contractor Involvement (ECI) situation to complete Detailed Design & Documentation for the project to achieve time, cost and quality targets.
To this end, TCDC intend to shortlist contractors based on a weighted attributes evaluation of received EOIs and invite shortlisted companies to participate in a Request for Proposal (RFP) process to select a Contractor for the project.
TCDC seeks to ensure that local (Thames Coromandel District catchment) contractors, subcontractor, and suppliers have the opportunity to be involved in the project subject to requisite capability, cost, and quality factors being met.

Detailed Design: estimated August - October 2019
CONSTRUCTION PERIOD
Main Construction period: Project must be fully completed by 30 May 2020
