Mount Alexander Shire Council (MASC) is seeking the services of a contractor to undertake the fencing work for the Lions Park Embankment Fence project.
The Lions Park is owned by VicTrack and is leased by MASC which is sub-leased in part to the local Lions Club. This project is to address the emerging safety risk of the embankment that runs along the west side of Kennedy St. The fence will be located on Council land however it will be close to Vic Track land and a permit will be obtained.
The project involves the construction of two runs of fencing:
* South fence run – to the south of the pedestrian path
* North fence run – to the north of the pedestrian path.
The pedestrian path is opposite Lyttleton St. It runs down the embankment from Kennedy St and past the Lions Club buildings to the station car park area.
There will also be the removal of two sections of fencing before the fencing construction work can commence.
