Tender Description
The Far North Queensland Ports Corporation Limited, trading as Ports North, is responsible for the operation and management of port facilities vital to the development of Cairns and other regional centres in Far North Queensland including Karumba, Thursday Island, Cape Flattery, Mourilyan, Skardon River, Cooktown, Burketown and Quintell Beach. Ports North has extensive property, marina, tourism and cargo facilities in Cairns and its regional ports.
The Cairns Shipping Development Project (CSDP) will provide improved port infrastructure and shipping channel access to promote expansion of the cruise shipping industry in Cairns and the wider region, and to benefit other trading industries in the Port of Cairns.
The proposed wharf upgrade works include the construction of 30 new monopile dolphins and the construction of a new Wharf 6 Jetty approximately 90m long.
Tenders are invited for the supply of steel piles:
* 47no. x 610mm diameter x 12.7mm wall thickness – various lengths
* 30no. x 2200mm diameter x 20 to32mm wall thickness – various lengths
Factory applied coating systems are to be provided to pile sections as specified.
