The Department of Industry, Innovation and Science (Industry) invites you to provide a quote for the services of a User Experience Designer who will provide specialist design, user research and user testing capability for the improvement of digital services and the customer experience, as part of an agile delivery team.
The Digital Strategy and Operations Division provides numerous operational services for the department and other government agencies, as well as services for the general public, such as business.gov.au.
The Service Experience team helps the division to deliver value for the department and intended outcomes and benefits for customers. The team engages customers and service delivery teams in user research, to gain a true end-to-end understanding of divisional services and enable holistic and meaningful service improvements.
The user experience designer will work with teams across the division to improve the customer experience and meet service objectives and strategic goals.
The successful candidate will partner with Industry’s Service Experience team to:
* Conduct user research and gather user needs and business requirements, identifying opportunities for service improvement
* Co-design proposed solutions developing prototypes that address user needs and provide a seamless experience
* Carry out user testing, gathering qualitative and quantitative data, to validate proposed solutions and iterate designs accordingly.
* Build service team capability in carrying out user research, experience design activities and addressing accessibility (WCAG 2.0 compliance) requirements.
