Detail Design and Construct Yarra Glen River Circuit Underpass

⁠⁠⁠Yarra Ranges Council is seeking tenders from suitably experienced Contractors for the design and construction of the Yarra Glen River Circuit Underpass.

This project involves the construction of 180 metres of concrete path and 60 metres of boardwalk, providing a link from the Yarra Glen railway station into the Yarra Glen showgrounds and recreation reserve.

A component of the works requires the construction of a section of concrete path that passes directly under the Melba Highway road bridge crossing the Yarra River. This work will require excavation adjacent to the toe of the concrete plinth and stone batter under the bridge. It is highly recommended that any structural works adjacent to the bridge structure be undertaken by a VicRoads prequalified contractor. Doing so ensures a significantly easier approval process, limits potential issues with liability and ensures that the contractor has in place adequate quality assurance processes that have been overseen and checked off according to VicRoads Pre-qualified standards.

Tenderers are NOT REQUIRED TO BE VICROADS PREQUALIFIED to lodge submissions for this tender.

If tenderers are not VicRoads prequalified, they may either:
* Engage a VicRoads prequalified contractor to complete works where it is recommended to use a VicRoads prequalified contractor; OR
* Agree to apply to become a VicRoads pre-qualified designer/contractor and only commence this component of the contract once the pre-qualification is approved; OR
* Be able to demonstrate to VicRoads satisfactory experience in working on projects of a similar nature involving VicRoads structures. Tenderers can choose to submit works to Vic Roads without pre-qualification and the works will be considered by Vic Roads. VicRoads may request the contractor to submit a Schedule 9, which requires the contractor to be able to demonstrate prior experience relevant to the proposed works as well as adequate OHS processes.

The Contract will be a Lump Sum / Schedule of Rates. Rise and fall will / will not apply.
