Rockhampton Regional Council invites Expressions of Interest EOI12984 for the Design, Construction, Maintenance and Monitoring of Landfill Gas Extraction and Electricity Generation and Lease of Associated Land.
The Rockhampton Regional Council is progressing with the closure of Lakes Creek Road Landfill (LCRL) Stage 1 and Gracemere Landfill (GML) site and sees the opportunity for suppliers to access the Landfill Gas (LFG) being generated at the Lakes Creek Road and Gracemere Sites. Concurrently, an expansion of the LCRL is being undertaken as part of a 30+ year plan to ensure the development of a state of the art waste management site that will service the Rockhampton Region well into the future while minimising the waste footprint and overall effect on the environment. An application has been made for the LCRL Piggy Back to be registered as an Emissions Reduction Registered project under the Carbon Credits (Carbon Farming Initiative) Act 2011.
