T07/18/19 - After 50 years of operation the War Memorial Swimming Pool needs a new non-slip concourse, boundary fence and upgrade of the change rooms.
The Berrigan community pop. 990 will be the primary beneficiaries of this project and the residents in the surrounding rural districts. Berrigan is home to two Primary Schools; Berrigan Public School and St Colombas Catholic School. The pool is currently used by residents and the school community. The Berrigan War Memorial Swimming Pool is adjacent to the local Caravan Park, with visitors to Berrigan also accessing the pool.
Timely investment in the Swimming Pool facilities used by families with children will help our community, adding to the towns rural economy and generating further economic opportunity via the attraction of families and businesses that relocate for lifestyle and to access services
The scope of the project is to deliver an upgrade of the ancillary facilities at the Berrigan War Memorial Swimming Pool as follows:
* Demolition of the unfit-for-purpose amenities block
* Construction of a new amenities block, including disabled facilities, canteen, storerooms and first aid/meeting room.
* Reconstruction of the concourse, pool deck
* Replacement of security fence
