Tender Description
This contract involves work at Howlong Water Treatment Plant (WTP), located approximately 30 km west of Albury. The WTP is currently owned and operated by Federation Council. The Howlong WTP has a capacity of 5 ML/d, and is a clarification and then filtration plant with 2 no. earthen sedimentation basin and 2 no. gravity filters.
The WTP has a number of issues primarily related to:
Incomplete integration of automatic operation,
Poor mixing in the flocculation tank,
Incorrect fluoride dosing point,
No automatic pre-lime and post-lime pH adjustment control,
No automatic change-over of equipment (e.g. equipment such as alum, sodium hypochlorite and polyelectrolyte dosing pumps, raw water pumps, settled water pump, clear water pumps),
Instruments and equipment that are unsuitable and/or inappropriate for its intended operation.
The purpose of this 'design and construct' (D&C) contract is to engage a suitably experienced contractor to design, supply, manufacture, installation, construction, commissioning, performance testing and defects liability of the upgrade works pertaining to the above issues.
