This Tender is invited by the Issuer.
Geoscience Australia is seeking submissions from suitably qualified vendors to provide user-centred design services, including user experience research and information architecture.
Geoscience Australia is reviewing its website and related digital channels to better align our communications activities with the needs of our audiences. We would like to research our clients to better understand how they would like to interact with Geoscience Australia.
The aim is to produce relevant and up-to-date digital content for our audiences, to make it easier for users to find key information on our website and to provide an engaging, consistent and seamless experience across all digital channels.
Outcomes of this project could include a new website information architecture (IA), an overarching digital content strategy, the development of prototypes for testing with our audiences, and the eventual redevelopment of the Geoscience Australia website. Some of these outcomes could be included within the scope of this project, or completed as part of future work.
The scope of this review is limited to the main Geoscience Australia website, key microsites and primary social media accounts. The pages and content of databases and applications are generally excluded except as part of general user experience, IA, search and wayfinding.
We are flexible on the approach and open to innovative proposals based on what has worked well for similar projects and the types of work which best align with the core skills and experience of the vendor.
Users find it difficult to find key information on the Geoscience Australia website. This can be due to the complex nature of our scientific content as well as the wide range of digital products and applications hosted on our website.
Geoscience Australia does not have a strategic approach to developing, managing and publishing content. When new content, projects or initiatives are launched, it can be difficult to find the best way to deliver this information to our audiences.
Geoscience Australia's web pages lack consistency and appropriate context as part of the user's journey. It is very easy for users to end up somewhere unexpected, including highly technical databases and applications.
