Tender Description
Given the extended dry period and low river flows, Council is proposing to use treated sewage effluent (with UV disinfection) to irrigate the cemetery and three sports ovals in Walgett. Council has already approached the EPA for permission to modify its existing license to permit this irrigation. Council now requires State Government approval under Section 60 of the Local Government Act 1993 to
implement this proposal.
The proposed report shall comply with the risk-management approach in the National Guidelines for WaterRecycling and satisfy the NSW DPI-Water requirements for a Section 60 approval. Bidders are required to follow the methodology outlined by NSW DPI-Water (link below) and provide their price and estimated time to complete this work for the service. Where appropriate, Council will assist and provide additional data as necessary on request.
PART C – DELIVERABLES
1. A report that satisfies the Section 60 requirements
2. A table showing application rate and daily volume of irrigation for each of the three identified areas
on the attached plan – cemetery, Oval 1 (large) and Ovals 2&3
PART D – PAYMENT
Terms of payment shall be as agreed with the successful bidder.
PART E – NOTE
Walgett Shire Council is not bound to accept the lowest or any quotation.
The successful bidder will be required to provide applicable insurances including but not limited to public
liability, professional indemnity and workers compensation.
