Tender Description

The Lismore City Council formed on 1 April 1977 is a progressive and innovative organisation located in the heart of the beautiful Northern Rivers Region of NSW. Employing approximately 500 staff, Council provides services to over 44,000 residents and manages a budget of approximately $80 million per annum. Lismore is the commercial and cultural hub of the region. It provides many of the region's major services and its shopping and sporting facilities, hospitals and schools serve residents of much of the surrounding area.

Lismore Regional Airport has tremendous potential as a general aviation centre with a recent expression of interest in new blocks at the airport yielding many different user types. At the same time Lismore airport is experiencing a change in passenger patronage.

Lismore City Council is looking for a suitably qualified consultant/consultancy to examine options for the type and capacity of commercial passenger flights (RPT), research a sample of current and potential exporters to see if they would utilise commercial air freight services, investigate the current capacity of the Lismore Airport precinct for commercial flight, options for expansion of general aviation and other potential airport uses such as training and tourism.
