search.data.gov.au - Accessibility WCAG 2.0 Review and Recommendations

⁠⁠⁠Web accessibility audit of the search.data.gov.au against the W3C Web Content Accessibility Guidelines, followed by retesting once issues have been fixed by our development team.

Accessibility is a core component in the design and delivery of all DTA services under the Digital Service Standard.

Since the site has entered a public Beta, we need to establish a baseline for accessibility of search.data.gov.au. We want to test the site meets WCAG 2.1 Level AA standards at a minimum.

The team is building search.data.gov.au as a replacement for the data.gov.au user interface. The frontend has been built in React, and is a large step away from the current CKAN interface.

We want to understand the impact this has on meeting accessibility needs, as well as actionable insights and recommendations to address any shortcomings.

We would like a partner to conduct an accessibility conformance audit, identify a backlog of enhancements and test again once these issues have been fixed.

We are not seeking to test any of the datasets hosted on search.data.gov.au through this process, only the user interface.
