The scope reflects the digitisation of over 1.4M specimens that make up the National Herbarium Collection of NSW. The specimens are currently located in a series of red boxes in the National Herbarium NSW in what is known as the Brown Building. Each specimen will require preparation prior to the commencement of the digitisation process.
Requirements for the preparation for digitisation of the collection include:
* Agreed entry criteria for all specimens and scenario based exception processes for specimens that don’t meet the readiness criteria
* Machinery set up and testing
* Specimen handling plan
* Pre-digitisation holding procedures
* Operating staff recruitment and training process
* End to end digitisation test plan (people, processes and systems)
