Modifications to increase the installed screening capacity of the existing Inlet Works at the Gisborne Recycled Water Plant.
During high-flow wet-weather events, blinding occurs of the existing step screen in the main channel of the Inlet Works, leading to by-passing of the screen and redirection of the incoming flow to the RWP's emergency stormwater storage. The proposed works to upgrade the screening capacity generally comprise the following:
* Replacement of a 4m section of an existing inlet sewer (DN300 DICL)
* Modifications to existing reinforced concrete channel walls and to penstock gates
* Re-commissioning of an existing unused step screen in a secondary channel (by others)
* Installation and commissioning of a refurbished screw screen in a secondary channel (by nominated sub-contractor)
* Supply, installation and commissioning of a replacement shaftless screw conveyor
* Modifications to existing screenings discharge chutes
* Modifications to screenings storage bin
* Modifications to associated electrical and control systems.
