Tenders are invited from suitably qualified contractors for the Replacement of Concrete Kerb & Channel, Paving and Associated Works for Year 2018/19.

Period of Contract
Forty (40) weeks from the Date of Acceptance of Tender.

The Contract provides for the construction of replacement concrete K&C, paving and associated works on various roads within the municipality at locations as shown on the drawings and as specified below. The Works include but are not limited to the following:

Supply and implementation of traffic management devices and personnel for protection of the works and provision for vehicular and pedestrian traffic.

Site establishment and setting out.
Saw cut, break out, remove and dispose of at Contractor's cost, existing kerb & channel and bedding, concrete paving and vehicular entrances (to front of thickened footpath) and any surplus material as required.

Supply, deliver and install 100 mm Subsoil drain and backfill with compacted No-Fines concrete under the kerb & channel.

Supply, deliver, spread and compact 20 mm Class 3 Crushed Rock bedding as specified under kerb & channel, vehicular entrances and footpath paving. Bedding for kerb and channel shall consist of 100mm thickness compacted crushed rock unless otherwise specified and for vehicular entrances and footpath paving 50mm thick compacted crushed rock.

Construct concrete kerb & channel including vehicular entrances and concrete footpath paving.

Reconnect existing house drains to kerb outlets where required, from front of path to front of kerb, including allowance for jointing from earthenware pipe to PVC.

Modify existing drainage pit tops including supply and installation of lintels, surrounds and inserts where required.

Reinstate existing sealed road pavement adjacent to replaced kerb & channel.

Adjusting the height of existing telecommunication pits to match new footpath levels.

Re-shape nature strips to new levels, compact backfill behind back of kerb including addition of 75mm of topsoil and seeding as required.
