Tender Description

Breast Screen Queensland (BSQ) was established in 1991 and is part of the national breast cancer screening program - Breast screen Australia (BSA). The aim of the program is to reduce mortality and morbidity from breast cancer by detecting breast cancer early through the implementation of population screening. This is achieved through community education, recruitment of eligible women, free breast screening, follow-up assessment, routine invitation for two-yearly rescreening, data collection and evaluation.

The program targets well women aged 50-74 years as this group is at an increased risk of developing breast cancer and because the benefits of screening have been most clearly demonstrated in this age group. Women aged 40 to 49 years and 75 years and older are also eligible to attend BSQ services.

A number of limitations have been identified with the existing BreastScreen system’s ‘Client matching’ functionality. These limitations have resulted in a high number of duplicate records.

The Customer has issued this Invitation to Offer with the objectives of implementing a solution to:

* Reduce duplicates being introduced into the existing system.
* Detect duplicate clients to minimise unnecessary breast screening.
* Maximise the search capability thereby minimising effort to manually match records.
