Tender Description
The project will undertake an analysis of mobility, including walkability and the use of Mobility Scooters, by older people and people with a disability in the townships of Springwood/Winmalee and Blackheath, in the Blue Mountains, being key townships where high numbers of older people and people with a disability reside.
These townships have been identified as they have high aged and disability populations, and exhibit diverse topographies and connectivity challenges that are both a priority to address, and will inform Council of issues and processes applicable to other areas of the LGA.
The project will entail consultation methods with residents over 65 years and with younger people with a disability and Council staff, to ensure the study is a true reflection of community needs now and in the future. The project will specifically investigate appropriate sites for Mobility Scooter charging stations for the aged and people with a disability, along with other supportive measures for this mode of transport.
