Cleanaway collects unsold bread from major retailers in Australia, however, current processing capabilities do not enable the bread to be recycled and goes to landfill. Through this expression of interest, Cleanaway is seeking a more sustainable and cost-efficient solution to dispose of unsold bread.
The proposed solution should aim at diverting as much volume as possible from landfill, it is understood that a one-size fits all solution may not be possible and that a combination of solutions might be required. We therefore encourage suppliers who can only offer a partial solution to submit their proposal as well. Partial solutions could mean: coverage of only one state out of 5, metro areas only, rural areas only, X% of the volume, etc.
