The Practice Nurse Scholarship: Graduate Certificate in Diabetes Education and Management is designed to upskill Registered Nurses who are interested in undertaking additional qualifications of a Graduate Certificate in Diabetes Education and Management from an Australian university (the Qualification).
Applicants must currently work for a General Practice in the Darling Downs and West Moreton PHN region and expect to remain working within General Practices in Darling Downs and West Moreton PHN region for 1-year post Qualification. The funding provided for successful applicants will cover the cost incurred by nurses who undertake the Qualification up to $10,000.
Upon completing the Qualification, the successful applicants may choose to undertake further activities to become a Credentialed Diabetes Educator (CDE), including 1000 hours of clinical support practice. DDWMPHN, West Moreton HHS, and Darling Downs HHS are willing to advise and assist applicants on completing their 1000 hours of clinical support practice and other criteria to become a CDE.
