Tender Description
This tender documentation outlines requirements for the construction of Stage 2B, 3 and 4 of the Bacchus Marsh Irrigation Modernisation Project, generally including:
* Approximately 9.2km of DN600 to DN300 pipeline construction;
* Upgrade of customer outlets;
* Connection to existing assets,
* Channel decommissioning and reinstatement of the channel reserves.
The existing BMID Supply System, generally comprises:
* Diversion weir located on the Werribee River which diverts supply to the Werribee Vale Road area;
* New pump station at Maddingley Weir, constructed as Stage 1 in 2016. The pump station diverts water to approximately 80% of the BMID located to the east of the township;
* Main Channel through Bacchus Marsh which supplies an existing pipe network to the east;
* Maddingley Basin which will be replaced by a new tank as part of Stage 2A to be commissioned in the first half of 2018.
The Contract includes, but is not necessarily limited to, the provision of all labour, materials and equipment for the supply (unless otherwise specified in the tender documents), installation, construction, testing and commissioning of the following:
* Construction of approximately 9.3 km of irrigation pipeline network;
* Construction of new customer metered outlets along the pipelines;
* Connection to existing pipelines and structures;
* Demolition and disposal of specified structures as required to complete the works or identified for abandonment including the existing channel lining and outlets;
* Earthworks to backfill sections of the existing Main Channel where pipe is to be installed;
* Liaison and communications with existing SRW customers adjacent to the proposed alignment to arrange access.
