Appointment of Audit Committee Independent Member

⁠⁠⁠Expressions of Interest are invited from suitably qualified and experienced individuals to be an Independent Member of the Glenelg Shire Council's Audit Committee.

The Audit Committee is an advisory committee to Council with membership consisting of the Mayor, two Councillors and four independent representatives appointed by Council.

The Committee operates in accordance with the Glenelg Shire Council's Audit Committee Charter. The purpose of the Audit Committee is to assist Council in the effective conduct of its responsibilities for financial reporting, management of risk, maintaining a reliable system of internal controls and facilitating the organisation's governance development.

Generally four meetings are held annually, and a meeting allowance is paid to Independent Members. The appointment term will be for a period up to four years.
