The Benalla Rural City Council (Principal) proposes to construct a new taxiway for Code A aircraft and towed gliders between the apron and the run-up bay off the existing taxiway to provide for an easier and less congested access between the apron and runways. Benalla Rural City Council requires the taxiway pavement and flanks to be smooth, solid and free of foreign debris to support glider and aircraft movements.

The Works is the parallel taxiway between the NE corner of the apron the existing taxiway. The apron and existing taxiway within the Works site is presently utilised by towed glider and aircraft taxiing and parking operations.

The principal components of the Works are:
* Stripping of existing grasses and topsoil within the graded section of the taxiway and stockpiling
* Earthworks including cutting, filling, compaction, trimming and erosion protection
* Unbound base course and bituminous sealed pavement
* Topsoiling and grassing of the disturbed area including establishment and maintenance
* Pipe drainage and subsoil drainage
* Removal of the existing markings and painting of new markings for the new taxiway

Pre-tender site inspection (non-compulsory).

A pre-tender site inspection will commence at 3pm Tuesday 22 August 2017.

Registration for this inspection is required as detailed in Section 1 Clause 1.5.
