Tweed Valley Rail Trail - Bridge Inspection and Analysis
Tender ID: 324844
Tender Details
Tender Description
Council is currently undertaking detailed design for the “Tweed Valley Rail Trail” (TVRT), stage 1 of a proposal to convert the disused Murwillumbah to Casino rail corridor to a rail trail for the use of pedestrians, cyclists and horses.
A major component of the works to convert the rail infrastructure to a rail trail is the treatment of the bridge crossings. Many of these bridges can be bypassed, but some cannot due to topography/accesses/flood etc. In these cases we can either demolish the old bridge and build a new one, or rehabilitate the old bridge and retrofit it for non-rail vehicles.
Council are seeking expert bridge inspection, testing, analysis and advice services, from a suitably experienced consultant, on 7 x rail bridges.
