Tender Description

In 2012, Council adopted the Cowra CBD Traffic Management and Redevelopment Master Plan (Master Plan). The Master Plan provides a framework to guide the future development of the CBD over a twenty (20) year timeframe. Council completed the redevelopment of Railway Lane in 2014, and has recently completed Stage 1 of the redevelopment of Kendal Street.

The next stage in the process is the Tender requirement for the reconstruction of the footpaths in Kendal Street and the construction of kerb extensions and shelters. Council approved the final designs on the 22 August 2016.

The site of the construction works is broadly Kendal Street, between Lachlan Street and Brisbane Street. The works area includes new crossing ramps on the Macquarie Street intersection (to the extent shown on plans), works on the north-eastern corners of Lachlan Street, the frontage of Squire Park, a mid-block crossing and extended paving works on the north-eastern and south-eastern corners of Brisbane Street. It is noted that no works are proposed in the traffic lanes of Kendal Street or any surrounding streets.

The works include:
Identification, location, excavation, diversion and reconnection of all services relevant to the site.
Supply and install all required components and materials as identified for the works.
Demolition, removal and disposal of excavated material including the existing pavement as is necessary to prepare the site for construction works, old paving to be transported to the Cowra Council depot for storage.
Pavement - 600mm x 600mm mid brown coloured tile with exposed aggregate finishes for the feature band and entry ramps.
The colours have been determined and will be provided at the site meeting.

New pavement on both sides of Kendal Street (from Brisbane to Lachlan Street intersections). Pavement is required to be cut to enable smaller paving to allow for disabled access to existing shop fronts where identified on plans. It is noted that not all shopfronts are being catered for and some shops have existing disabled access which is to remain.
