The AHO is seeking contractors to supply and install solar photovoltaic (PV) systems in up to 970 Aboriginal Housing Office (AHO) owned properties in Western NSW as part of the AHO Solar program. Contractors may tender on one (1) or more of the five (5) installation zones.
To assist its tenants with the high cost of energy, the AHO has recently commenced an energy bill support program for its tenants in Western NSW. The program will see up to 970 AHO properties located in Western NSW retrofitted with rooftop solar PV systems. The program will also include an education program for tenants.
Western NSW has been chosen as the location for this program because it is in these areas where many people are experiencing extreme energy hardship, and additionally the AHO is currently rolling out an Air Conditioning program in these same towns. By installing Solar PV this will offset the potential increases in energy cost resulting from tenants running air conditioning.
