Meter Reading System Replacement

This Request for Information (RFI) is being issued strictly for the purpose of gaining knowledge of the scope of the goods and services available in the marketplace, their potential costs and the capacity of suppliers to deliver those goods and services.

This RFI does not create any representation, either express or implied, and should not be construed as a commitment that:
* Any tender or procurement process will proceed following this RFI; or
* A respondent to this RFI will be shortlisted to participate in a subsequent procurement process; or
* If a tender or procurement process does proceed, that the participant's tender or other form of application (if any) will be given any preference or special consideration; or
* Hunter Water will enter into a binding contract with any person for the supply of the goods and/or services stipulated in this RFI.

Meter Reading System Background:
Hunter Water currently utilises an ITRON meter reading software package (MVRS) to facilitate and capture the reading of all Hunter Water customer meters for billing purposes. This system was implemented in 2009. ITRON have now announced that both MVRS and the compatible Hand Held Devices will be at end of support in 2021.

Meters are currently read 3 times per year with approximately 686,000 being read per annum.

Purpose & Objective: This Request for Information is an information gathering process in which Hunter Water seeks to collect information and options to replace the current meter reading system using up to date and supported technology.
