WSC17-044 - The Waltzing Matilda Centre (the Centre) located in Winton Township is an iconic Queensland tourist attraction, and a vital part of the tourism infrastructure of the Winton region. The Centre was destroyed by fire on 18th June 2015. Council has procured a building contractor to reconstruct the Centre and is now planning for procurement of contractors to undertake interpretive and exhibition installations in the Centre.
Council has engaged Local Government Infrastructure Services (LGIS) as client side project managers.
Council is undertaking a single stage open market Request For Tender (RFT) process to procure a suitably qualified, experienced and capable contractor for the provision of interpretive and exhibition fitout construction services in accordance with the Local Government Act (2009) and Section 228 of the Local Government Regulation 2012.

The RFT and the information that accompanies it, has been prepared to give Tenderers information in relation to the Project and the Scope of Works to enable preparation and submission of a fully priced Lump Sum tender response. The Scope of Works contained in this RFT includes supply and installation of interpretive and exhibition furniture, displays, structures, feature walls, graphics, object mounts, applied finishes and associated works for the Centre.
Winton is located in Central Western Queensland on the Landsborough Highway, 178 kilometres north-west of Longreach, 472 kilometres south-east of Mount Isa and approximately 1,353 kilometres from Brisbane City; covering 53,935 square kilometres and boasting a population of around 1,600 people.
