Tender Description
The Bacchus Marsh Irrigation District (BMID) Modernisation Project involves the staged reconfiguration of the Bacchus Marsh Irrigation District. Stage 1 of the modernisation, a pumping station on Werribee River, is complete. Stages 2A & 2B are programmed for completion in 2017.
In summary the BMID Supply System generally comprises:
1) Diversion weir located on the Werribee River which diverts supply to Werribee Vale Road;
2) New pump station at Maddingley Weir, constructed as Stage 1 in 2016. The pump station diverts water to 80% of the BMID located to the east of the township;
3) Main Channel through Bacchus Marsh which supplies an existing pipe network to the east;
4) Maddingley Basin which will be replaced by a new tank as part of Stage 2A.
This Contract for Stage 2B Pipeline Package B is for the installation of an 875m pipeline to supply water from the existing Spur 5 main to a Southern Rural Water (SRW) Customer (Erceg) located to the north of Bacchus Marsh Road. The pipework to be installed as part of this contract of works will be supplied by SRW.
