Mildura Base Hospital is calling for tenders to deliver psychosocial rehabilitation services from the newly constructed Prevention and Recovery Centre (PARC) located in Mildura.

The Mildura based service proposes to fi ll a gap for sub-acute mental health services in the North West of Victoria by providing a new, purpose built facility.

The PARC unit offers a total of 10 beds; 5 short stay beds (up to 28 days) and 5 Long Stay beds (up to 6 month) for patients who require either a ‘step up’ service for people coming from home requiring increase in support or ‘step down’ recovery period from the inpatient unit before returning to an appropriate place of residence.

This is a new service to the Mildura catchment that combines the clinical skill set of the North West Area Mental Health Service and the rehabilitation skills of a Mental Health Community Care Service.

The health agency for Mildura PARC is Ramsay Health Care (RHC). RHC operates Mildura Base Hospital, and provides a range of Acute Services including Emergency, Maternity, Intensive Care, General Medicine and Surgery, Medical Imaging, Pathology, Dialysis, Mental Health (Inpatient and Community services) and a range of Ambulatory Services.

The population of Mildura and surrounding district (Sunraysia) is approximately 80,000.
