Tender Description
The Collaroy Beach seawall is an existing sandstone blockwork wall commencing at the Beach Services Club to its north and ending at the Collaroy Rockpool to its south.
A major storm event in June 2016 has damaged a section of the seawall, measuring approximately fifteen (15) metres in length. Sections of the adjoining promenade also require rectification. The damaged section of the seawall is penetrated by two stormwater outlet pipes measuring 1200mm and 1800mm diameters respectively.
Northern Beaches Council (Council) is seeking tenders from suitably qualified contractors to carry out the remedial works comprising of the following scope:
1. Locate, protect and temporary disconnection of existing utility services including electricity, stormwater, etc. The redundant stormwater pipe is to be retained
2. Protection of works from wave and tidal action
3. Demolition of damaged blockwork seawall and concrete footing whilst preventing any further damage to the existing seawall
4. Construct bored concrete piles, concrete footing and sandstone blockwork seawall. Works to maintain a smooth transition with existing seawall
5. Construct a 2 metre wide beach access ramp
6. Reconstruct the Promenade comprising of concrete pathway and paved surfaces including drainage grating.
7. Reconstruct flushed kerb along the carpark edge, repair sandstone kerb blocks as 'garden edge' and damaged sandstone seating wall in carpark, re-instate 3 sandstone logs, install 2 matching wheelstops and undertake linemarking upon completion
8. Implement environmental management controls involving but not limited to dust control, sediment erosion protection, etc.
9. Obtain necessary permits
10. Testing of ground stability and implement adequate safe work practices including shoring
11. Liaise and co-ordinate works with Council's appointed electrical contractor, Rees Electrical, to enable the installation of 1x light pole within the Promenade
12. Maintain ongoing accesses to the Collaroy Beach carpark, neighbouring businesses and Collaroy Beach
13. Public toilets are available at the Collaroy Surf Life Saving Club building for contractor's use however Contractor will be responsible for ensuring these amenities are kept clean at all times or undertake cleaning services as required upon the direction of Superintendent
14. Removal of demolished materials to an appropriate tip site, delivery dockets to be retained on site as evidence
15. Site fencing and implement pedestrian management plan
16. Carry out as-construction survey and provide "works-as-executed" drawings to Council in both PDF and AutoCAD formats
17. Provide a Maintenance Manual which shall include all certificates and warranties of products and fixtures used at project site.
The works are to be carried out strictly in accordance with the requirements in this document. To have tenders considered, contractors will need to ensure that all required information requested in the Request for Tender document is provided.
The works are expected to commence on 14 August 2017 and achieve completion by 29 September 2017.
