Expressions of Interest - Audit & Risk Committee - External Member

⁠⁠⁠Isaac Regional Council is seeking Expressions of Interest from suitably qualified and experienced applicants for the role of an independent member, acknowledging the likelihood that the new external member will assume the role of Chairperson during 2017. Initial engagement is for a period of two (2) years with an option to extend, but not exceeding six (6) years.

Isaac Regional Council’s Audit & Risk Committee (Committee) is an advisory Committee to Council that provides oversight, and is responsible, for reviewing and making recommendations to the Council regarding financial management, risk management, governance, internal controls, legislative compliance, internal and external audit planning and reporting. The emphasis is on improving performance, transparency and managing risk within Council.

The suitable candidate will have:
* Relevant tertiary qualification and membership of a recognised professional body;
* Be a member (or recently retired member) of CPA Australia or Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand (desirable).

Comprehensive experience in Local Government Corporate Financial management/reporting, risks management systems and procedures, internal business controls and internal/external audits would be highly desirable.
