UNSW Request for Information for the Supply of Wireless Presentation Solutions

⁠⁠⁠Connecting personal or UNSW laptops to large screens for "presentations" is common at UNSW. This connection is typically achieved by joining the laptop to a cable, and one of many possible adaptors. This cable is tethered to a lectern or desk and then connected to the in-room audio-visual equipment.

This project seeks to remove those physical cables and the adaptors, and implement a wireless solution - thereby facilitating less prescriptive modes of engagement and collaboration in learning and in the production of knowledge.

The first phase of the project will be a broad-base pilot in up to 10 meeting and learning spaces. This will help us evaluate the solution with a broad cross section of staff and students, and enable the development of the business case. The second phase of the project will be to implement the solution in select Active Learning Spaces and Collaborative Spaces, by the start of session 2 2017.

Subsequent phases follow thereafter. There is the potential to require wireless presentation solutions in nearly 800 spaces if the pilot and subsequent phases prove successful.
