Tender Description
Byron Shire Council is seeking tenders from suitably qualified and experienced parties for the repair and protection of the Belongil Creek Bridge on Ewingsdale Road, near Byron Bay, NSW.
The Belongil Creek Bridge is a reinforced concrete structure measuring approximately 43m in length and 11.5 m in width and consists of a deck slab that is supported by five crosshead beams. Each crosshead beam is supported by five reinforced concrete piles.
In summary, the project includes for the following:
1) The remediation of all piles, which will include concrete repairs, installation of a corrosion protection system and a silane impregnation treatment.
2) The protection of the piles, abutments and piers via a silane impregnation treatment.
3) The remediation of the traffic barrier handrail, which will involve removal and replacement of the handrail joint connectors and recoating of the handrail.
4) The remediation of various items on the deck, including repairs to sections of failed asphalt road surface and expansion joints, as well as repainting of line marking on the roadway.
5) The removal and pruning of vegetation.
An optional site inspection is scheduled for 1pm 24/11/16.
