PHN Wide Bay Allied Health for Early Years

Central Queensland, Wide Bay, Sunshine Coast PHN (the PHN) is a commissioning organisation and is inviting Proposals for a project to enhance access to evidence-based primary health care services for children who are developmentally vulnerable, and deliver locally based solutions targeting poor child development in children aged 0 to 5 years, in the Wide Bay area.

The PHN is one of 31 Commonwealth funded PHNs nationwide. It is a not for profit organisation which coordinates primary and preventative health care for a region of 161,000km2, with a population of 823,985 people; stretching from Glasshouse Mountains in the south, to north of Yeppoon and west of Emerald.

This funding opportunity of up to $45,000 (Exc GST), is seeking outcomes in childhood development related to the Australian Early Development Census (AEDC), with a particular focus on physical health and wellbeing, language and cognitive skills, communication skills and general knowledge domains.

The PHN is seeking proposals using universal interventions that target physical health and well-being development outcomes, and targeted interventions that target one or more of the AEDC domains as outlined above. It is intended that interventions are delivered using a settings-based approach within the broader socio-ecological context.

As a capacity building exercise; all applicants are encouraged to contact the PHN's Wide Bay project team, to discuss potential projects, prior to commencement of the application.

Eligibility: Organisations based and/or operating in the Wide Bay area that deliver activities for any of the key groups, are eligible to submit a Proposal.

Applications: Applications will only be accepted through this portal. A separate submission needs to be completed for each Proposal.
Who should complete the application: Organisations are encouraged to partner with other organisations when submitting an application. In this instance the 'lead' organisation should submit the application, and reflect partnership arrangements.
