Tender Description
WorkCover are seeking offers from suitably qualified specialists to join our Medical Advisory Panel for a period of 3 years, with a one year option to renew.
WorkCover regularly seeks MAP services to provide expert advice on different medical related queries including surgery requests, rehabilitation/treatment referrals, and unusual medical conditions. It is not designed to replace independent medical examinations (IMEs) and aims to provide clarification of the medical advice received during a statutory claim, thereby improving the medical management of an injured worker’s claim.
Services included verbal or email advice, claim file reviews and limited medical educational sessions for WorkCover staff. Medical specialists from a variety of areas are sourced, including:
* neurosurgeon;
* orthopaedic sub-specialties;
* spine
* knee/hip
* hand
* shoulder
* general
* psychiatric; and
* occupational physicians.
There are strict mandatory requirements that must be met for applying specialists. More information regarding the specific requirements can be found in the tender documents.
