Tender Description
The Department of Finance manages the whole of Australian Government travel arrangements which includes the accommodation program management services(Accommodation Arrangement).Approximately 100 Australian Government (Government) entities and 100,000 travellers access the Accommodation Arrangements.
The Government’s requirements include accommodation in hotels, motels, serviced apartments, and unconventional accommodation (such as demountable buildings, caravan parks and camping grounds throughout Australia).
The Government’s accommodation requirements are wide-ranging and with special requirements that include, but are not limited to, accommodation for:
* Regional and remote locations
* Long-stay and relocations
* Group travel or bulk bookings
* VIPs and visiting dignitaries
* Venue hire
* Travellers requiring accessible accommodation.
While the current Accommodation Arrangement is a significant improvement on the decentralised approach prior to July 2012, there is scope for further improvements.
This paper sets out the strategy for the renewal of the Accommodation Arrangement and provides a draft SOR for industry review and comment.
