Tender Description

⁠⁠⁠The City of Greater Geelong invites tenders closing 2.00pm on Wednesday 24 August 2016 from experienced contractors for the annual supply of bituminous spray seal works.

The works to be undertaken under this Contract includes all bituminous surfacing specified in the Schedule of Works completed in accordance with the Job Program given in Appendix 1. The Works include stacksite preparation, surface preparation, supply and delivery of all bituminous materials and sealing aggregate, spraying of bituminous materials, traffic control, paper protection, aggregate pre-coating, spreading and rolling of aggregate, removal of loose aggregate by suction sweeping, supply of geotextile fabric as applicable, pre and post spraying signage and reinstatement of line marking (2 coats) and raised pavement markers.

The Program of Works as indicated in Appendix 1 is correct at the time of tendering but may be subject to change dependent on the Program Budget or a change in Council priorities.

The Contractor is responsible for notifying the Superintendent of any concerns with the proposed treatment prior to commencing the work.

Unless otherwise specified or formally notified, the Contract duration will be from 1 November 2016 to the 30 June 2017. All jobs identified in Pricing Schedule 1 shall be completed by 31 March 2017. Any work carried out under schedule of rates (Pricing Schedule 3) shall be completed by 30 June 2017. The contract may be awarded before 1 November 2016 however under no circumstances shall any work be undertaken prior to November 2016.

The Contract shall operate on a 'Lump Sum' basis for each item in Schedule 1 and shall be subject to variation for the area actually measured and sprayed and the variation in the actual rates of application of bituminous material compared to the estimated rates upon which the tender was based as provided in Schedule 2.

The tender evaluation panel will consider the details of the tenderer's OH&S system provided in or in response to Schedule 7 of the documents attached.

Tenders which do not contain details of OH&S systems which meet the minimum required standards will not be considered for the contract.
