Tender Description
V/Line is the major provider of passenger rail and coach services to regional Victoria.
It manages the regional Victorian passenger and freight rail networks and provides freight rail operators with access to the rail network.
Each week V/Line runs more than 1,400 train services across regional Victoria to the following locations:
* Geelong and Warrnambool
* Bacchus Marsh, Ballarat, Ararat and Maryborough
* Kyneton, Bendigo, Swan Hill and Echuca
* Seymour, Shepparton and Albury
* Traralgon, Sale and Bairnsdale
In addition to being a passenger service operator, V/Line also manages 3,450 kilometres of track, including some in southern NSW, to enable both passenger and freight rail operations.
V/Line is an accredited rail operator in Victoria and New South Wales.
With a workforce of 1,442, V/Line is a major employer with many of its employees living in regional Victoria.
