Tender Description

This is an advance notice that Western Water will be shortly seeking construction tenders for this project. A 'Request For Tenders' is expected to be posted on Wednesday 11th May 2016.

The Surbiton Park Recycled Water Plant (SPRWP) is located at Butlers Road, Mt Cottrell, approximately 8 km south of Melton. The SPRWP currently services a population of approximately 63,000 people in the Melton region which is experiencing one of the highest population growth rates in Victoria. The current Average Dry Weather Flow of the plant is approximately 12 ML/day. The SPRWP is an activated sludge plant that comprises primary and secondary treatment. Thickened biosolids from the treatment processes are stabilised in a reinforced concrete mesophilic anaerobic digester, followed by belt filter press dewatering.

As part of a staged upgrade to increase the SPRWP capacity to 18 ML/d, Western Water is planning to increase the capacity of the existing biosolids facility. Western Water will be seeking tenders for the design and construction of works that include a new mesophilic anaerobic digester, a dual-membrane gas holder, biogas and heating management systems and associated civil, mechanical, electrical, instrumentation and control works.

This project is to be delivered as a Design and Construct contract under AS4300-1995 General Conditions of Contract.
