Tender Description

The National Heavy Vehicle Regulator (NHVR) was rolled out on the 21 January 2013 and the Heavy Vehicle National Law (HVNL) was endorsed on 10 February 2014. The NHVR is now the single point of contact for the National Heavy Vehicle Accreditation Scheme (NHVAS).

Accredited NHVAS Operators throughout Australia can nominate vehicles and trailers over 4.5 tonne in the Maintenance module and vehicles in the they require under Mass module (trailers cannot be nominated in mass). Operators come from many diverse industries including concrete, produce, petroleum, stock, general freight both long and short haul trips.

It is a requirement of NHVAS Business Rules and HVNL to have a unique identification label attached to each of the nominated vehicles/trailers.

The NHVR Accreditation team is responsible for the issuing of the labels to vehicles nominated in the mass and maintenance modules. The accredited operator is responsible to affix them to the nominated vehicle.

The labels assigned to nominated vehicles are posted to accredited operator; labels are normally affix to the driver's side of the truck and for trailers to the rear or right hand side.

A new design of the label design has just been approved, this now means there will be four types of labels. (Vehicle - Mass denoted by a blue strip; Maintenance denoted by a yellow strip and Mass and Maintenance (both modules) denoted by both a yellow and blue strip and a Trailer label for maintenance, yellow strip).

These labels will need to be removed should the operator choose to remove a nominated vehicle from the scheme or adjust the module/s the vehicle is nominated in or on replacement of a damaged/destroyed label.
