Consultancy Quotation - Business Case for the Charters Towers Data Centre (CTDC) Solar Powered

⁠⁠⁠Council intends to facilitate the development of the first greenfield, energy efficient PV solar powered, commercial Data Centre in the Northern Australia Region, located in Charters Towers.

The 'Big' Data Centre operations form an integral and central component of the TED project.

The Data Centre seeks to incorporate a pool of resources (computational, storage, network) to address an acute lack of data management capacity in the Northern Australia Region. Development of the new data management capacity may proceed in several stages on Council owned land, adjacent to the proposed Stand-alone PV solar utility (currently under separate tender process), which will power the Project via private connection. The Centre must and will be state-of-the-art incorporating the latest technological advancements in cloud data storage and options for a cloud data central approach.

This RFQ is issued for the following five (5) components associated with the Data Centre development:
1. Analysis of a future Client(s) needs, including recommended tier rating
2. Defining TED facility requirements, incorporating a 10-25 year time horizon
3. Initial 'Business Case' development, including identification of a pool of suitable anchor tenants, stakeholder; spin off industry; and potential investors
4. Initial site analysis for the Project and its functionality inside of the Charters Towers Aerodrome priority development zone. Alternative sites in the vicinity should also be identified in the surrounding location.
5. Required land allocation, including possible future stages.
