Provision of An Annual Audit of Kerbside Recycables for Hume City Council

⁠⁠⁠Hume City Council provides a domestic fortnightly recycling collection service utilising 140L, 240L and 360L mobile recycling bins.

Commingled recyclables are transported by the collection contractor to a recycling material sorting and recovery facility at Coolaroo operated by SKM Recycling. Over a fortnight 66,500 bins are collected by five collection vehicles from Monday to Friday that deposit approximately two loads per day per vehicle.

Loads weigh on average seven tonne. There is no weekend collection service of recyclables. To monitor and evaluate the performance of the kerbside recycling program and manage contractual obligations with the collection and sorting contractors, Hume City Council wishes to conduct an audit of these recyclables.
