Advance Notice - Design & Build eResearch Data Centre

⁠⁠⁠The University of Tasmania (UTAS) is committed to the establishment of a new eResearch Data Centre facility through the refurbishment of the basement boiler room in the Engineering and building at UTAS Hobart campus for the UTAS research team. The University intends to release a Request For Tender (RFT) in January 2016 to engage a principal contractor with the experience and capability to design and construct a facility to meet these requirements and undertake the necessary room remediation and ground works required.

In addition to catering for existing UTAS eResearch ICT loads, it should be designed so that it does not restrict the Universities ability to cater for new research through providing logical pathways for expansion as additional funds become available in the future. The Data Centre facility must be fully compliant with the Building Code of Australia standards for this type of facility, University and local authority requirements including Hobart City Council noise pollution/restriction/nuisance levels.

The RFT will include:
* University's requirements
* Detailed specifications of the space
* Timings of a RFT briefing session
* Site inspection time-frames
